I felt naked and everyone was just staring at me.
Could I really show myself like that, on stage and in front of all those people? Would anyone trust me? I knew this wouldn’t work out – I shouldn’t have agreed to Mark’s idea…
Shannon here… that’s what I was thinking before I took the plunge – and it felt like I was about to die.
But it was now or never:
Either I listened to my deeper yearning to step fully into my calling- or go back and work for my many bosses, feeling like a small huge part of me was dying.
Before I Took The Plunge, I Didn’t Think Success Was Possible for Me – Only for ‘Everyone Else’
You see, for years I was planning everyone’s live events.
I did everything to make sure their events were a massive success.
I worked my ass off… and helped them make 100’s of 1000’s of dollars.
I justified it and told myself, “I’m paying my dues.”
I stayed up way past midnight, every night of an event.
I woke up at 5 am and ran on adrenaline all day long.
3 gigs like that paid my bills, barely.
Because these gigs came in waves.
Some months 5, some….0.
For a while I was going strong with 3 gigs a month and felt like it was all going to be fine.
I was helping other Conscious Entrepreneurs spread their message, impact the lives of thousands of people and make the world a better place.
And I saw the money they made.
I saw how these events I produced for them earned them High Six Figures in 1 weekend.
So how did I feel?
Like I wasn’t good enough.
I felt like something was wrong.
I mean, how was I working my ass off, making everyone else happy (and profitable) but myself.
I was happy for them – but I knew I had a deeper purpose.
I ALSO had a deep message to share.
I ALSO could light up a room.
I ALSO could make money.
But that’s where I stopped – I didn’t think I could do it.
I knew I could make it happen for others.
But could I do it? No, I struggled to believe in MYSELF.
I mean, I didn’t have an email list of 20,000 people.
I didn’t have an email list of 80!
Yes, I had energy and a message – but so did everyone else I met.
But Then I Met Mark… And Everything Changed!
It was around this time that I started dating Mark.
At one point we met for a glass of wine and I told him how I was feeling.
And then, he said this one sentence that changed everything:
“Why don’t you just put on your own event?”
Now, it’s not that I didn’t think of that before.
It’s just that I didn’t have anyone who would come!
And then he said:
“Do it, even if no one comes….but you know they will, even if it’s 5 people.
You just have to take the first step.”
So…I listened to Mark.
But I knew I was really listening to myself – he was guiding me there.
You know what it’s like to be trying this all on your own.
It’s impossible because we simply stand in our own way.
All I needed was a little support – and Mark was like an angel who came at the perfect time.
So here’s what I did.
I hosted a (very) small Meetup and 8 people showed up.
But to me – it felt like a room of 80,000 people because of what this meant.
This meant that I was really starting.
Because I was – I was starting.
And even though I stood there feeling naked and vulnerable and doubtful and afraid…
I took the plunge and gave my presentation.
2 people took me up on my offer at the end…. and I turned that into $10,000!
If it was 2 or 2 million – it felt the same:
LIKE HEAVEN!
There’s nothing like it.
The feeling of doing what I love, of sharing my message, of growing, of making an impact, of being ME.

It really was just the beginning.
Because those 8 people turned into 20. And 20 to 50. And 50 to 80.
